The Wednesday afternoon Bridge session has changed and
has now become a "gentle Bridge"
session. It is designed to help ease the Beginners Classes into the general Club
sessions. It started on June 4th. The learners from the
Beginners Classes make up the bulk of the players but there is
also plenty of space for people who inexperienced players who consider themselves "gentle
players"
and would like to join in. You don't need a partner and the
games will be played in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
We play only simple systems at these sessions.

Congratulations to Alison Foster and husband Jack who celebrate
their 59th Wedding Anniversary on July 9th....next year is the BIG
one!
18 players attend the FINAL Intermediate Bridge Class!
Another 18 players, eager to develop their game, turned up on
July 15th to
the last in the series of the Intermediate Bridge Classes, which was delivered by Andy Cove,
and attended by two more of
Clifton's 12 EBU-trained Teachers, covering "Defending No Trump Contracts". After
the session the Teachers received a HUGE round of applause from the
students with many commenting on how much their game had improved as
a result of the course.

Tournament at the Club on Sunday July 6th....see
