Open Day at the Bridge Club on August 22nd!

There will be an Open Day at the Bridge Club from 2-4pm on Sunday, August 22nd when prospective Bridge Players can find out all about the new Beginners' Classes which start on September 15th and 17th respectively. You will be able to speak to Club Members about the Course content, prices, the sort of help you get....and you can sign up for them if you wish!

The Beginners Class "graduated" on July 4th!
The Wednesday Evening  and Friday Morning Beginners' Classes had their "Graduation Celebration" on Sunday July 4th.  It started with a buffet, then there was a photo-shoot with the Lytham Express (watch out for Thursdays edition!), a presentation ceremony where every graduate was given a certificate and, finally, a lovely game of Bridge!  Well done to all the Graduates and welcome to Clifton Bridge Club! Preparations have already begun for the next intake of Beginners and new courses will start   in September.  The Wednesday Evening Classes start on September 15th and the Friday Morning Classes start on September 17th. You can contact the Club Secretary if you want your name (or a friend's) down early before the list fills up.

Work has started on a new website!

The Club has recently started work on a new website which accommodate all the results from the sessions played with Bridgemate machines.  We ask that you bear with us as we put this together. But if you want to access it now to see the results from recent sessions (and haven't already received an email from the Club Secretary) please send an email to Dave Johnston and he will give you the web address.

The Saturday Supper Club has another great turn out!

The Supper Club on Saturday was a great success again with 22 players turning out, of which 18 enjoyed a fabulous plate of fish & chips and a glass of wine for just £2.80! If you like the idea of a meal before you play then why not sign up for the next one on Saturday July 24th. Supper Club Bridge will be held on the last Saturday of each month now.

New Assisted Bridge session started on Friday June 25th!

We're quite excited about the news that  we have started a brand new bridge session.  In order to help Beginners' Class Members get used to joining in regular Club sessions we have just started a special "Assisted Bridge Session" on a Friday afternoon (seated by 1.15 please).  You will be able to call for help with your bidding and play during this session. The games may be played at a slower pace while we allow the new guys and gals to get up to speed. Regular players are welcome to this session and former members of the Beginners' Classes might find it useful as well!...and the best bit is....YOU DON'T NEED A PARTNER...WE WILL FIND ONE FOR YOU! The first sessions have been very well received....so come and join us and develop your game.

Look out for Friday's edition of the Lytham Express which, hopefully, we have lots of coverage of the Graduates Celebrations!
