Clifton Bridge Club Visitors Website - Bridge Sessions
General

The Bridge played on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights is normal competitive duplicate bridge with small cash prizes being given to the winners. Thursday Night is a "Hosted" night so you can turn up without a partner and we will find you one .

On Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday evenings we have “Social Bridge” sessions which are good for beginners and improvers who wish to move on to more competitive bridge after their initial introduction to the game  On the Wednesday afternoon session you don't need to have a partner as we can fix you up with one.

On Wednesday evenings we have a supported bridge session, run by teachers Peter Plant and Eileen Hopson, where there will be occasional lessons, which will be great for those who are just starting the game.   During the playing of hands  players can call over the teachers to help them with their bidding. You don't need a partner for these sessions but you must call Eileen on 01253 402915 in advance if you need one.

On Sundays, approximately once a month, we normally have a Tournament.

We also continuously run Beginners' Classes which are always led by EBU-trained teachers with EBU-trained helpers in attendance.

Friendliness

The Club is famous for its friendliness and so social occasions are a major part of our activities. Apart from dinners and parties we also have at least two Social Bridge nights each year where the emphasis is on fun with a capital “F”!
