Notes from the February 5th 2010 Committee Meeting
 

*   Stair lift overhauled and safety certificate received

*  Attendances only slightly down on last year despite the snow

 *  225 have renewed subs already.

*  The 2  Intermediate Level Courses have started with 45 members attending!

*  The Club Calendar for 2010 has been distributed with membership renewals...note that the Christmas Dinner is December 5th not 12th

*  Meg Henderson's membership application was accepted

*  The arrangements for the Ladies v Gents Match finalised

*  George Coutts Trophy arrangements finalised....handicap event, afternoon and evening sessions, 2-course meal, prizes £50  £30 and £20..entry fee £8

* Noted that A and B Teams both lost recent games

*  President's Dinner at the Lindum to cost £16 members and £20 non-members

 

Next Meeting:  10am Friday March 5th  2010 in the Bridge Room

 

 
Notes from the 2009 AGM

*  The Chairman reported on an excellent year with attendances up, subscriptions up and the development of one of the best comprehensive Bridge Training Programmes in the UK

*  The Treasure reported on a surplus of £666 for the year

*  Table Money and subscriptions are to remain the same for this year but the Joining fee is to be reduced to just £10

*  That there be no joining fee for graduates from the Beginners' Classes

*  Honoraria of £250 to be paid to the Treasurer, Secretary, Chief TD and the newly created office of Chief Training Officer for 2009

*  Further development of the kitchen area (costing around £25,000) put on hold for the time being but a feasibility study is complete

*  Andy Cove and George Winstanley were presented with the Ashton Cup....for 2009 a £20 prize is to be given to the winning pair as well

*  Sylvia Horner is to be the new President

*  Committee positions for 2009/10 (new members in red):

    Chair:Tony Murphy,   Secretary: Dave Johnston,   Treasurer: Martin Osgood,   Chief TD: Andy Cove,   Chief Training Officer: John    Duxbury,

   General Committee Members: Olive Somerville, Polly Scholes, Keith Bates, Mike French, Diane Fraser and Annette Harrison

*  The Club Members voted that they did not support the new Universal Membership Strategy being adopted by the EBU
