The Christmas Party  was one of the best yet!

The Christmas Party at the Fairhaven Golf Club was one of the best yet!

The food at the Fairhaven Golf Club was "absolutely beautiful" according to one of the 80 members who sat down to lunch at the Annual Christmas Party. The service was first class and a good game of Bridge was enjoyed by all.  Yvonne Green won the President's Prize in the free raffle while Dagmar Fazackerley and John Duxbury won the North/South pairings in the Bridge with Audrey Rigby and Christine Welch winning the East/West.

Many thanks to all those involved in making it such a memorable occasion!

The Collins Trophy, January 10th...Barbara and David win their first Tournament!
Barbara Bailey and David Abbott played out of their skin to fend off a strong challenge from  Rhona and Keith Bates and win their first ever Tournament at Clifton Bridge Club by the narrowest of margins. Kath Woods and Thelma Rees also played one of their best Tournaments to finish in the 3rd spot just ahead of Olive Somerville and Richard Moore!  On the original scores, before the Handicaps are applied, Keith and Rhona led the field with and excellent 64.29%, ahead of Olive and Richard and The Murphia!

It was a credit to the enthusiasm of the Club members that no less than 16 pairs braved the elements to take part in the event.  Congratulations to Andy Cove on brilliant event organisation once again, to Keith Bates for some excellent biscuits(!) and to The President Sylvia Horner who was as masterful as ever at presenting the prizes!
